1.  Why should you use an external microphone?

- Using an external microphone gives you many more options and variants to how you want to capture your audio be it for different situations. However using a build-in microphone limits the control the user has, such as the placement and quality. External microphones are build and fitted with more advanced transducers reducing interference. 

2. What are the two ways to monitor your audio recording? 

Most commonly, Headphones are used for listening the audio recording and a VU Meter to monitor the audio signals.
