Storyboard Types 6.1

Animatic Storyboard -

Advanced computer technology in today's world has allowed filmmakers to create animated storyboards. Amimatics are individual sketches filmed in order to create a sensation of motions and also timing.


Shooting Storyboard -

Most commonly used with camera angle, position and also movement. A good example for when this could be used is in a chaotic, action-packed scenes where the angles, movement and position are key and have to be spot on.

Pre-Visualization Storyboard -

These boards are a hybrid of live action shooting and animation, also known and called a "previs" or "previz". Previs is a technical service typically done in 3D that allows a production team to visualize scenes in a particular way make sense to the team (including the producer and director). By doing a previs, you can see a how you can make the scene happen before they have to go ahead and do it on camera.

Presentation Storyboard -

A much more colorful and illustrative board for the purpose of selling your/the concept. The way it works is you put the highlighting info on the board that are the key moments of Show, Movie or Commercial you may be making to then illustrate the pros of the product that can be pitched to the client.
